Our toddler classroom is designed for one-on-one lessons and to foster independence at an early age. We emphasize love of learning, imagination, freedom with responsibility, vocabulary, and an introduction to quantities.

The Toddler room
Children in the toddler program explore their environment through hands-on learning and guided discovery. They engage in activities that build independence, such as pouring water, sweeping the floor, and dressing themselves. These experiences help them develop fine and gross motor skills, as well as confidence in their abilities. The classroom is structured to support individual growth while encouraging collaboration and social interaction. Teachers provide one-on-one lessons that are tailored to each child's pace and interests. Through these interactions, children learn to make choices, complete tasks, and understand the importance of responsibility. The program emphasizes the development of self-awareness and the ability to solve problems creatively.
What to expect
15 – 36 months
Children at the toddler level are in the first plane of development, the Absorbent Mind stage. They begin to master balance, coordination, and reasoning. A prepared environment offers order and routine while allowing free exploration. We focus on social awareness, grace, and self-calming. The snack area provides practical life opportunities like pouring and dishwashing. Positive guidance helps children learn appropriate behavior.
At the toddler level children focus on these areas:
Care of Self: Washing hands, dressing, toilet independence, preparing food. Care of Others: Grace and courtesy lessons, teaching and learning from others, socialization skills. Care of Environment: Washing, dusting, polishing, and sweeping. Montessori Language activities build on children’s natural capacity to listen and absorb everything they hear.

What this looks like in practice
Children in the toddler program work through a morning cycle that includes individual lessons, group activities, and snack time. During circle time, they engage in songs, stories, and games that build social skills and language. Practical life activities, such as pouring and sweeping, are offered throughout the day to support independence. Teachers guide children through these tasks, helping them develop confidence and self-help skills.
